This weeks Firefox Add On Review will discuss the SeoQuake 2.1.0 toolbar Add On for Firefox.
While most people look at how pretty a website is or how many cool graphics a blog has; Webmasters and Bloggers, especially ones looking to make money online from their creations, tend to look at things a bit differently.
PageRank, SEO, Inbound and Outbound links take on a whole new meaning when trying to develop your blog to its fullest potential and trying to maximize visitor count, or when trying to do research on how others became so successful and high ranked in the search engines.
This weeks Firefox Add On of choice, SeoQuake 2.1.0, makes all the above much, much simpler.
Like all other Firefox extensions and add ons, it is a breeze to install and configure. Click on the link on the download page and the extension for the most part installs itself.
You can show to following information on your Firefox SeoQuake Toolbar:
- Google Page Rank
- Links to the website that are recognized by Google, Yahoo and MSN Search Engines
- Alexa Site Ranking
- Age of the site being viewed
- Number of times the page has been bookmarked in Delicious
- The number of Internal and External Links on the page being viewed.
- Keyword/Keyphrase Density for all words on the page
The thing that I really like the most about the SeoQuake Add On is that it is totally customizable, you can have as much or as little information showing on the SeoQuake toolbar as you like. (click on picture for larger image)
Once you start using SeoQuake 2.1.0, you will find new and interesting ways to look at the sites you visit on a daily basis and web browsing and searching in general.
While performing searches in Google, SeoQuake will automatically list abbreviated website statistics next to or underneath every search result.(click on picture for larger image)
I have been using SeoQuake for approximately 1 year now and it has saved me quite a bit of time in researching and learning about Page Rank, Inbound Links and Link Quality just by going to favorite websites and experimenting with the various SeoQuake 2.1.0 features.
In conclusion: If you are a web surfer that is just interested in going from point A to point B, getting your email and checking out your favorite Facebook page or blog, this is probably not the plugin that I would recommend to you.
If however you are a new or intermediate level blogger and/or webmaster, I would highly recommend SeoQuake 2.1.0 in order to help put everything you have heard about page rank and the importance of incomming and outgoing links into perspective.
